Superbowl Commercials 2013

We all have high expectations about the superbowl. Although the Patriots didn’t make it this year, we still would like to watch an exciting game, funny and surprising commercials, and of course, a stunning half-time show.

However, the game this year was BORING until after the blackout. You didn’t miss anything if you didn’t watch it.

We went out for the night, just like other superbowl nights, hoping to have a good time in the midst of the crowd. The superbowl starts with the kids from Sandy Hook Elementary School singing the National Anthem, joined by Jennifer Hudson. I enjoyed watching it and thought it was a very good idea for the kids to come out to sing. I hope they can forget about the tragedy. That is the only nice thing to watch for the whole superbowl night.

There was nothing much to mention about the superbowl commercials this year. Now, I can see why there was no preview of any of the superbowl commercials this year before the day of. There are a few funny ones and some touching ones.

I personally like the Bud Light voodoo commercial. They call it “Journey”. It speaks what a fan would do when rooting for one’s favorite team. At the beginning of the commercial, one may wonder what the guy was doing while he went from places to places; seeing different people. In the end, when he was sitting at the stadium bench, taking a voodoo out from his jacket. But wait, he’s not the only one. The guy sitting next to him has one, too. That is hilarious!

Taco Bell’s “Viva Young” is also a funny one with the old folks staying young, doing all kinds of things wild youngsters would do. It has nothing to do with superbowl, but it definitely is a funny one to watch while the game was BOR~RING!–super-bowl-ads-2013

Got Milk’s first superbowl commercial “Morning Run” did a good try and captured our eyes when Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson starts chasing the milk truck despite everyone on the road needs his help. And, yet, the game was still BOR~RING!–super-bowl-ads-2013

There are some touching ones, but I guess I prefer the lighter side. Especially with a bor~ring game, who doesn’t want some funny commercials. Luckily the game became a bit exciting when the 49ers made a dramatic come back with 17 unanswered points.
